The city of Aphrodisias, which was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1987, was listed as the top ten ancient cities by the jury composed of experts in 2004.
July 9, 2017 – UNESCO’s 41st World Heritage Committee meeting in Krakow, Poland, decided to register the Aphrodisias Archaeological Site on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
