The Palace of Bishopric

The structure, planned round the back of the Odeon and surrounded by columns around and stood a sarcophagus in the middle, is a recognized mausoleum of an Aphrodisias. The high-walled structure, located on the western side of the Odeon, was built as the residence of the late Roman governor of the province. In late years, it was used as the Episcopal palace. The blue color of the column, which surrounds the central courtyard, is remarkable. There are many large and small rooms with the three apses in the building.
